CHRISTMAS COLOSSUS COMBO

Sale Price: £62.95 Original Price: £71.95

A Titanic trio of wines on the Heavier side to compliment the Christmas period, they don’t necessarily need food, but each can come into its own with various seasonal dishes if they are still around, come the big day.

Each combo has a fizz, a white and a red. There may be some simple food suggestions in the notes but if you’re looking for something to match a meal not covered here, or you want something similar but have different characteristics in mind (lighter/heavier/fruitier/oakier…) come in and see us.

These options are for someone who wants wines with a little substance. Medium or fuller bodied, we’ve got a lot more going on here.

Ferghettina Brut, Franciacorta DOCG 12.5%abv

Chardonnay/Pinot Noir

Italy (Lombardy)

(Vegetarian, Vegan, sustainable)

An exuberant, confident and bright style - lively and very approachable with a citrus fruits and golden apple character which is at the same time both incisive yet quite gentle, with hints of white flowers and hazelnuts.

Tabalí Talinay Vineyard Chardonnay, DO Valle de Limarí 12.5%abv

Chardonnay

Chile (Limarí Valley)

(Vegetarian, Vegan)

The nose shows the unique mineral character of the Talinay terroir along with citrus and a nutty Burgundian note. Thanks to the perfect phenolic ripeness of the grapes there is balance of freshness and fullness with a bony mineral character from the Talinay chalk. The wine finishes with a sappy tang reminiscent of a ripe Chablis but with Talinay's unique saline fingerprint. Gently citrussy and herbal aromas lead to a densely fruity, peachy palate with great texture and a clean, lifted finish.

Domaine Boutinot Les Coteaux Schisteux, Séguret AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages 14.5%abv

Grenache Noir/Syrah

France (Rhone)

(Vegetarian, Vegan)

The nose is opulent and polished with layers of exotic spices, cigar box, cracked black pepper and streaked with vanilla. The palate is instantly appealing, polished and smooth on entry but steeped in depth and texture as the flavours swirl around, lengthen and delight. The lasting impression is satisfying - a big and opulent Grenache-driven wine with obvious oak quality, great structure, length and finish.
