WINEMAKERS COLLECTION GRANITE ROCK WHITE BLEND,  

SOUTH AFRICA  Bottle £9.50 GUEST WINE

A richer and fuller "school-night" wine to get through the first cold evenings of autumn. This blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Rousanne and Viognier has upfront tropical fruit aromas with a hint of butterscotch. Try partnering it with mild chicken or seafood curries..

 

K-NAIA BODEGAS NAIA,  

SPAIN  Bottle £11.25 

This is a top class Verdejo. It has been made with a dash of Sauvignon Blanc and displays familiar characteristics: passion fruit and citrus flavours with herbaceous notes, zesty acidity and good minerality. It will pair well with baked or grilled flat fishes, such as turbot and soles, who are at their best in Autumn.

 

LES COTEAUX TUFIERS VOUVRAY,

FRANCE  Bottle £11.50 

A delicious off-dry style of Chenin with notes of cooked apple, agave, ginger and honey. The sweetness is perfectly balanced, resulting in a fresh wine. It is a good match for the comfort foods coming back to our table: honey roast ham, chicken cooked any way, Sunday roast and cheese platters.

 GUARDIENSE JANARE FALANGHINA DEL SANNIO,

ITALY  Bottle £13.95

Falanghina is an ancient, lesser-known Italian white variety, cultivated in the hills of Campania around Naples. A versatile wine, it is elegant and richly textured with citrussy fruit and orchard fruit notes. It will pair well with fish, shellfish, poultry or pork dishes cooked with apple.

 

PIATTELLI TORRONTES,

ARGENTINA  Bottle £15.50  GUEST WINE

We really like this refreshing and fragrant Torrontes, with its bright apricot and tropical fruit flavours, 20% of the wine was aged for 2 months in oak for added complexity. The traditional pairing is with hot meat empanadas, but the Fiofar Birdie will work just as well! Just keep the tango moves out of the ceilidh!

FRANCE  Bottle £17.95  GUEST WINE

Wow! Wow! Wow! An expensive French Burgundy with buttery oak? No, a classy Muscadet with a modern bent made by a young vigneron on his family's renowned estate, Chateau de la Bretonnerie.  Try it in September, October and November before deciding to pair it with your Christmas turkey!
