Muddy Water is in the Waipara and the name is a translation of the Maori, Wai meaning water and Para being sediment. The maturation in the cellar during production helps this to be a complex wine, 15% new fill French oak barrels gives an unctuous mouth feel along with the Malolactic fermentation creating a rich creamy flavour. Almonds and butterscotch with rich pear, peach and melon. A long finish with great ageing acidity and stoney minerality.
